Surveying the Rebirth of “Destroyer at Peace”

$14.95

On September 17, 1996, a 330-foot Russian frigate was purposely sunk to the ocean floor in order to create an artificial reef on the North wall off Cayman Brac, in the Cayman Islands. In order to emphasize the magnitude and importance of this marine environmental event, Jean-Michel Cousteau rode the ship down as it sank. Subsequently, he has committed to doing constant surveys of this ship to study the growth and habitation of this new reef architecture. This program represents one of those surveys after only two years. While diving from the Cayman Aggressor live-aboard dive boat, Jean- Michel thoroughly inspects the MV Capt. Keith Tibbetts on day and night dives, from bow to keel, inside and out.

Please allow 3-5 weeks for this item to ship.
