Dominica offers a delightful array of marine life including large schools of Atlantic Spadefish that follow divers around during the dives, and some of the largest yellowtail snappers seen anywhere in the world. There are swim-throughs inundated with schools of grunts and blackbar soldierfish just waiting for divers to swim past. There are also electric rays, southern Stingrays, red-lipped batfish, pipefish, seahorses, crabs and lobsters of all sorts and sizes , and even many species of macro shrimp hiding in the reef and some hitching a ride on sea cucumbers and/or sea urchins. Lionfish have invaded Dominica just as they have on most Caribbean reefs, but Dive Dominica offers a quick study on how to protect the reef and other divers while spearing the lionfish, then takes divers on lionfish hunts, clean the fish, then the chef will prepare them for lunch or dinner.
